ABOUT

I am a visual artist and filmmaker; working mainly in film and printmaking, currently enrolled in the BA Fine Art course at The Royal Academy of Art, The Hague in The Netherlands, (KABK). Originally coming from a painting background, I made my way towards film in the last 2 years of the degree process.

I was born in Perth, Western Australia in 1997 and then migrated back to Cyprus, the home country of my family.

From my dual-nationality, I later became aware of the idea of inclusion, exclusion and belonging.

My new works deal with the idea of cultural identity and how it effects us as individuals, as well as it's larger reach into our political lives and social structures.

My upcoming work is a documentary art film. Taking Cyprus as the focus; with its history of division and segregated communities, I try to re-imagine what a term like 'Cypriot' could mean; away from biased perspectives and distorted versions of history. I believe with regards to these kinds of issues, it is important to have a space where you can reflect, discuss, make connections and re-claim your identity, Cypriots included.
